RECONSTRUCTION OF HISTORICAL CORNER HOUSE, KADAN
In the city center of Kadaň, at the lively intersection of Vrchlického and Tyršova Streets, an abandoned building quietly awaited its new life. Once forgotten, this corner house—gazing toward the town square—is now reimagined as a multifunctional space that bridges heritage and contemporary use.
The architectural proposal restores the building’s dignity while introducing a gentle rhythm of everyday life. A café and office space activate the ground floor, opening the house to the public realm, while above, apartments are nestled across the first floor and attic, inviting long-term presence into a place once silent.
This is a renewal not only of walls and roofs, but of purpose — a return of light, activity, and belonging into the historical fabric of the town. A quiet revitalization that lets the past breathe anew.
