Set within the historic fabric of Prague’s Old Town, this project breathes new life into the attic of a listed cultural monument. The task was to transform the underused roof space into two contemporary apartments that meet modern standards while respecting the spirit of the original structure.
Drawing upon the interior concept by A69 architects (J. Wertig, M. Petryt), the design delicately balances heritage and comfort. Original timber beams are left exposed, framing new interventions in steel, glass, and light. The atmosphere is shaped by contrast — solid and transparent, rough and refined — allowing the old and new to speak in harmony. Beyond the initial concept, our work focused on refining the interior design and adapting it to the specific spatial and technical conditions of the attic. We developed the complete construction and implementation documentation and oversaw the coordination of the building process, ensuring that the project remained true to its architectural intent while responding sensitively to the building’s historical character.
